Coterra is hiring a Reservoir Engineer for our Midland, Texas office.
JOB SUMMARY
As a Reservoir Engineer for Coterra Energy , you will perform reservoir engineering assignments which are relatively difficult and complex in nature. You will make independent decisions in planning, organizing, and completing technical assignments. You may be called on to provide mentoring to other technical staff and less experienced engineers. Must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice. This position is located onsite in our Midland, Texas office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitate and coordinate with various department staff within the company, such as geoscience, drilling, production and land on various projects and studies
Perform various analyses and studies such as well performance, pressures, recovery methods, including volumetric, and production decline curves and confirms accuracy and completeness
Perform economic analysis and evaluations of acquisitions, drilling, recompletion, and work over opportunities to help with justification and drilling programs
Gather and analyzes test data in order to define accurate reservoir characterization
Screening and feasibility studies on existing assets, potential acquisitions, and potential asset divestitures and makes recommendations based on findings
Reserves studies for budgeting, forecasting for reporting purposes
Perform special studies of producing properties in order to estimate oil and gas reserves
Coordinate efficient exploitation of reserves and initiates recovery methods
Well test analysis, economic analysis, material balances, and various recovery method analyses. Review data to ensure accuracy for reporting
Although this position is not required to provide direct supervision to other personnel, incumbents in this role may be called on to lead various projects and mentor less experienced engineers and technical staff
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Established proficiency in computing skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is required.
Established proficiency in technical applications, such as ARIES is required.
Must be able to work with large amounts of detailed data with high level of accuracy
Must possess the ability to be self-directed while working in a team environment
Must possess strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to meet established deadlines
Be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of Bachelors Degree - Position typically requires skills normally obtained through the completion of a 4 year degree program in Petroleum Engineering
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Reservoir Engineer
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. You must be able to perform work which includes typing, sitting and standing. In the event there are visits operations worksite, personal protection equipment, including head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
10% - 15% - Travel will be required for mandatory meetings, training and visits to field locations.
