Your Schedule:
We offer flexible scheduling with 3-4 shifts per week, including a mix of days, evenings, and nights.
Expect approximately 3-4 night shifts per month and 1-2 weekend shifts per month.
What You'll Need:
Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required before starting, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required upon starting.
Licensure: Valid Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license. If a Nurse Practitioner, a valid RN Compact License (depending on the state of primary residence) and a license (or eligibility) as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia. A Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license is required if prescribing controlled substances.
Experience: One year of experience in cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery, general surgery, cardiology, or critical care is highly preferred.
Education: For Nurse Practitioners, a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and a Master's Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice or a graduate of a post-master's certificate program. For Physician Assistants, graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Qualifications: Board Certified Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Maintain necessary CME requirements.
